The 6 applications across web developer should have

Posted by Venu Thomas on Aug 17, 2009 in Software |

AppsMany programmers are dedicated to the design and/or web development. There are many applications out there that can help us to perform our work to a greater or lesser extent.

Take several years after this, I am going to talk about the tools I like. I know this is something very personal and that what I say here is not a universal truth, everyone should find the application you are most satisfied and the most convenient location.

  • Pixelmator: How I do not have enough money to catch the almighty Photoshop, I prefer this great photo editing application that has nothing to envy (only vector drawing). But to create buttons and money is going very well. It costs $ 59
  • Sequel Pro: Before it used CocoaSQL but this was discontinued and became part of, for me, the better manager mySQL databases for the Mac is free but donations accepted.
  • Textmate: The definitive text editor for Mac that much know already. It has tinted according to the source programming language you want, supports plugins and support for color themes. It costs € 48.75
  • CSSEdit: While taking Textmate is optional, it is of great help make the style sheets from our website with this application because it has a graphical interface where you can build the css rule. ¿Price? € 29.95
  • Cyberduck: Many defenders Transmit FTP client for excellence, but I will stay with Cyberduck which has many characteristics of transmitting and it’s free
  • Things: The best GTD manager for Mac I know. It seems it was designed by Apple itself. Simple, fast and efficient, has become an extension of mine What would my projects without this tool needs to be done? Cost $ 49.95

For me, the best FTP app is FileZilla. I haven’t been able to increase concurrency on Cyberduck thread uploads/downloads, so when you’re working with a slow server it’s a PITA. FileZilla’s UI is HORRIBLE but does this very well.
