Mac OS X Snow Leopard appears to be more efficient in energy consumption

Posted by Venu Thomas on Sep 6, 2009 in Mac

SnowLeopardSpecs_050909

According to tests conducted by CNET, Mac OS X Snow Leopard appears to be a more efficient system in all respects. Not only because of the increased speed and new technologies including, apparently the more efficient energy consumption in the new cat.

After several tests, where we have used a MacBook Pro 17 “, the results were very similar with small differences lower for the latest version of Mac OS X, 10.6. These subtle tenths cause small savings individually, but really important when we consider what will be many computers that are upgraded to the new system.

Moreover, as many have already commented, that power management is more palpable in portable equipment where battery life has increased a few minutes on the previous version and reduced the heat generated.

Apple Store stolen in 31 seconds

Posted by Venu Thomas on Sep 3, 2009 in Other

Video: Test [02:33 min]

Worthy of Olympic medal, 5 assailants entered the Apple Store in Marlton, New Jersey, and in only 31 seconds were made of 23 MacBook Pros, 9 iPod touch and 14 iPhones. The robbery happened around 02:00 am when the store still had a watchful, for when he arrived (sure he was eating some delicious donuts) all she could do was frightened and called authorities.

The entire robbery was recorded by the cameras of the Apple Store, and this is reflected in an outstanding organization in which each of the thieves knew where he was going. Besides, their hands were shown a speed record worthy of Guinness. I still do not capture those involved because they have their faces covered, making it impossible to identify them.

Posted by Venu Thomas on Sep 2, 2009 in Iphone

BatteryiPhone_020909

If you have an iPhone I’m sure you do not discover anything new iPhone battery l is one of its weaknesses. In fact it may be clearly its worst feature. The luck that is Apple, and logically for users, the iPhone has thousands of devices and accessories to fill this gap.

It is well known the incredible world of accessories that surrounds all Apple products. If you’re thinking about buying one of these external batteries to recharge your device quickly, here’s a list of the most interesting.

Griffin

Griffin is too well known for its accessories, good quality and finish of them. In this case there are two batteries that stand out from the rest deserve to be precisely one of the best in its primary function, reload the device.

The main differences between the two is that the old model can run with the full range of iPods and iPhones available to date while the new model is only compatible with the range iPhone and iPod nano.

Kensington

We can not let one of the leading manufacturers of accessories both PC and Mac In addition to traditional batteries like other companies, also has something more interesting models.

The “traditional” model has the advantage over other incorporate a charging indicator, so very visibly at a time we can see if we loaded into the external battery.

But besides this simple model have been presented recently one quite interesting. Its novelty lies in incorporating a dock along with the battery. Thus from the dock can charge and sync your iPhone while simultaneously loaded from another external battery slot. This charge will never forget it.

RichardSolo

Although this brand is quite unknown in Spain, other countries like the United States RichardSolo has a large following and won fans thanks to his finishes and designs just perfect.

Leaving aside their finishes. The main feature, and more interestingly, this battery is its 1800mAh capacity, higher than the rest. This allows us to recharge more than once the iPhone with a single external battery.

Also as a curiosity, has an LED for use as a flashlight battery and a laser pointer to it. The drawback to this model is that to have greater autonomy size is also enlarged on the basis of it.

DealExtreme

I could not leave out one of the leading exporters of Chinese products. Her accessories are not characterized by a great finish, not for its great durability but of course are by far the cheapest and most accessible of the full range of batteries available.

They have traditional models like the other companies but I can not pass up the chance to show anything other than a very competitive price.

The main feature is that both batteries do not require electricity to recharge because they are solar. On the device itself incorporates a solar panel with which to charge the battery. Thus if we take a trip through the countryside or places where we can not depend on a plug that you can be the most interesting of all.

Snippet to keep your bits of code in order

Posted by Venu Thomas on Sep 2, 2009 in Software

Video: Snippet App

I’m going to talk about a very useful application for developers called Snippet of Fuel Collective.

This is a simple application that loads into the menu bar and is always accessible without deal site on the screen and not distract from our main business: sting code.

With a single keystroke, there appears a simple form with which we can find the piece of code you want and paste it directly into our IDE. It can even sync with our own Mobile me to keep our pieces of code in the Apple cloud.

It costs about $ 12.95 and right now I am using for my projects very personal for typical SQL statements that use to validate the operations of my programs, for example.

Snow Leopard dropped support for Palm sync

Posted by Venu Thomas on Sep 1, 2009 in Mac

Palm
If you use a Palm organizer on your Mac this article may leave a bad taste, because Apple has removed the Palm HotSync functionality in your application to synchronize devices third, iSync, in Snow Leopard.

Apple introduced this feature with the release of iSync 2.0 in Tiger, in an effort to maintain compatibility with the Palm Mac OS X and complete indifference to the company’s own PDAs, you have not updated their software to our platform long ago. However, seeing the success of the iPhone from Apple users, this feature has fallen into disuse of the majority.

However, using third party software like Missing Sync will continue to be able to synchronize data with Palm calendars, and even the new Palm Pre, multi phone company willing to compete with the iPhone.

New ad “Get a Mac”: Trainer

Posted by Venu Thomas on Sep 1, 2009 in Mac

Video: Apple’s “Get a Mac” ad: “Trainer” [00:30 min]

New ad campaign for Apple’s brilliant. This time PC tries to stay fit with the help of a personal trainer, but never manages to reach a Mac

Translating lightly, the coach (who, incidentally, is played by Robert Loggia) said things like, “Come on, start lots of screws!” Or “PC Mag has rated the SAT as the # 1 Mac. Will you consent? ”

Already exhausted, PC begs her coach to say something positive and this says, “Claaaaro, you’re doing great Mac!”.

I love it.
